COMPANY HISTORY
Sirkkas Massage was founded in Negaunee, Michigan in 1971 by Sirkka Petaisto. Originally from Finland, Sirkka wasn't the first of her family to travel to the Ishpeming area. Years earlier her mother had also traveled to Michigan's Upper Peninsula from Finland, where she massaged a gentleman who was unable to walk due to a stoke. After a series of successful massages, he was able to walk again. With this legacy of success, it was only natural for Sirkka to follow her mother's path and serve the Ishpeming and Negaunee area with her skill as a massage therapist. MEET MARY PETAISTO As a third generation natural therapist, Mary Petaisto continues to provide the exceptional massage therapy and bodywork to the community that her mother and grandmother began. With over 24 years of experience, her knowledge and understanding of intuitive and therapeutic massage is extensive. Over 1000 hours of natural therapies training and 200 hours of additional continuing training, have helped Mary find her passion in Myofascial Release. Her gentle spirit, caring attitude and extensive knowledge has guaranteed Sirkkas Massage customer's complete satisfaction in their massage care. |
